The following quote was included in a sales letter from Microsoft for Windows Server 2003 that I received last week:
We upgraded from our NT domain to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Active Directory in just one evening. Now our IT staff has a directory enabled environment to refine its control over the desktop, and new remote tools to manage our servers. We are saving time and money. I passed the letter with the words, “Now our IT staff has a directory enabled environment to refine its control over the desktop” circled to my Network Administrator with the note; “We’ve had this with Netware since when? 1997?”
He called me back and said, “Can you believe it? Microsoft has created this really cool thing called a directory. Isn’t that great!”
Who says sarcasm is dead in America?
