Dangerous Shoppers

Hannah and I drove down from Maine on Saturday afternoon and met the blizzard head on at the Portsmouth Rotary.

We saw several cars off the road the nearer we got to the Mass. Border.

Sunday Cherrie had it all shoveled out by game time and we settled in to watch the Pats cream the Steelers.

Monday, as I was fighting a cold, I decided to take a quick drive to the gym and see all the snow cover streets and sidewalks aqnd try to work the cold out of my system.

It was still freezing cold but the sun warmed us up to +9 so I decided to stop by the supermarket to get some coffee and oatmeal for my post gym breakfast.

As I was entering the superette, I approached this attractive young mom wheeling one of those collapsible nylon mesh strollers our eyes met and I smiled and looked down at the little treasure she was strolling.

Feeling warm and fuzzy after my workout, I smiled down at the carriage and looked squarely at a 5 lb. bag of Maine potatoes.

So, to save face, I loving said, “What an adorable bag of potatoes, how old are they?”

I think she called the police as I hurried to my car.
