iPhone

Since I finally got a regular job, I decided to get a cell phone, and iPhone was really the only logical choice.  In my humble opinion, it’s the greatest consumer device in the last 100 years, bar none.

There are however, a few little issues that are annoying, but because, it’s really the cheapest Mac you can buy, plus a phone; future software updates can make these issues go away.

So what is it that I don’t like; here they are:

  • No GPS.  You can use Google maps, but you can’t ask the phone to tell you where you are on the map, or have it automatically follow the great turn by turn directions it is able to give you.
  • No task list.  This is a serious problem and had better be remedied sooner than later.  The only thing I can think of, is that there will be a new application that uncouples tasks’s from iCal, perhaps called iDo and that it will be available on the iPhone and in the iLife package for the desktop.
  • And the last little annoying thing is that there is a nasty tendancy of the phone to crash and burn when you attempt to add a picture to an existing contact in the address book.  I thought it was a fluke when I took my friend Darrell’s picture, and I accused him of breaking my phone, but it happened again last night when I was trying to add my friend Darren’s picture, so in my mind it is definitely a bug.

  1. It’s about time you got a cell phone.
Since the picture association thing did not work for Darrell, or Darren, maybe you should try it on Dwayne!
