The early bird

Microsoft is not being caught napping this time.  They’re out to catch the jerk who wrote the Sasser worm, and they’re working with the FBI and Secret Service to do it (although I’m not sure why the Secret Service is interested).

They have a $5 million reward fund in abeyance too, though they haven’t yet put a “price on the head” of the Sasser author per se.

Personally, I can get behind law enforcement and other efforts to catch, convict, and punish the kinds of people who write and spread viruses a lot more than I get upset about people who share MP3s, even if both acts are equally illegal.  Some things are more immoral than others.
