Was just looking at job postings at Seagate and came across this word that I hadn’t heard before. From the sounds of it I was thinking that it was something to do with social (Tribal) engineering, but it really is a noun meaning:
The study of friction, wear, lubrication, and the design of bearings; the science of interacting surfaces in relative motion.
